Christmas is traditionally seen as a time of giving. I have compiled a list of my favourite sites that either give back, or are socially or ethically conscious. Some are all three.

The Little Market is a non-profit founded by Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla which helps to empower women and all sales revenue is retained with the Little Market.

There are some fabulous, well priced luxe goodies on this site.

These beautiful ceramic boxes ( from $26.00) wold look equally at home in the bathroom or the kitchen. One thing for sure is, they are far too gorgeous to hide away.

This fabulous fragrance house was conceived and is made in LA. Blending the line between high end fragrance and sustainability, Dedcool disrupts mainstream ideas by creating scents that are unisex, vegan, cruelty free and non toxic.

Another perfect stocking filler is the “chazstick”($12.00), so named after the founder of Dedcool, Carina Chazanas. There is also a hand cream ($20.00).

Everything is made in small batches, using traditional methods, resulting in beautiful fragrances.

La Natura offers a complete range of skin and body ( there is even a non toxic pet wash )that has been made in small batches in Los Angeles since 1987. Everything La Natura produces is Vegan, gluten  and Cruelty Free, using ingredients that are sourced for the most part in the US. Everlane partners with only the best, ethical factories, sources the finest ,materials and shares the true cost of every product. They call this radical transparency. Everyone makes sure that the factories they use give fair wages, reasonable hours and a good working environment to all the staff. Each year on Black Friday, Everyone donates all profits to improve the lives of everyone who works at their factories.

Reformation’s mission is to lead and inspire a sustainable way to be fashionable. Much of their manufacturing is done in Downtown Los Angeles, other garments are made responsibly in the US or abroad using sustainable fabric and vintage garments. They aim to make items at a fraction of the environmental impact of conventional fashion.

The Charleston top ($128.00, other colours available) is a christmas gift winner, with lace inserts, puff shoulders and a full sleeve.

The Citizenry has beautiful home goods that are created with a soul and a story. Pieces are made by Artisans in a fair trade environment.

These gorgeous triangular coasters ($65.00) are hand made by artisans in Puebla, Mexico and no two pieces are the same. A great gift, alongside a bottle of wine or glassware.

I couldn’t finish my Do Good, Be Good gift selection without including one of my favourite brands, Mulberry. This luxe, leather and clothing brand was born in Somerset, England, in 1971 and much is still done by hand.
