It seems that no sooner has summer got underway than we are being bombarded with Pre Fall! All thoughts of floating around in gossamer like fabrics are forgotten as we are tempted by brands and designers to  buy into new season styles and colours. I have always preferred a transitional way of dressing, which then justifies paying a designer price now and again, as the cost per wear is minimal and you get to change up your pieces to work into the current season.

This Paul Smith top has been a favourite wardrobe staple for around 16 years!!!!!It is getting a little more delicate with each wear, but it has really stood the test of time and was worth every penny, it works with everything I have in my wardrobe and although I don’t wear it in the depths of winter, it works under a chunky knit. or jacket, as well as it going solo.

I should also add I got this top on sale and it was heavily reduced as the sales were coming to an end, so I’ve been on some of my favorite designer websites to see which tops could become one of your wardrobe staples in the future, here are 10 of the best.

The secret to keep this blouse looking youthful is not to wear it with a  skirt of any description.
