Never underestimate a white shoe, it has the unique ability to transform an all black look into something with an edge. I have long been a fan of white sneakers and the ease in which they lend a cool aesthetic  to a smart outfit, now it’s the turn of white shoes to do the same and are more practical in the chillier months than you may think. White boots are a no no for me, a mule, slingback, or heel are a more chic approach.

A white mule ( more details on these from United Nude later) works well with a colour mix and  can easily be a winter wardrobe workhorse. Wearing the mules with a vintage Austin Reed wool twill blazer, Gentle Fawn navy print blouse , Gap girlfriend denim and Mulberry bag.

Want to try the white shoe style for yourself, check out some of my favourites below,

The great thing about these slingback kitten heels from Sam Edelman (currently on sale, $77.00) is that they will go with everything and will be perfect for daytime or evening looks.

These mules by Nordstrom Signature ($225.00) are easy to wear as the vamp comes quite high up on the foot and the notch front elongates and slims the ankles.

TThese are the United Nude mules I am wearing above ($250.00) and they are actually more white in real life than in this shot. This designer brand puts it own spin on  classic styles and   its metallic, silver wedge heel and faux fur footbed lend an avant garde edge. These look great with all styles of denim and pants.

Yuul Yie is a relative newcomer to the shoe world, but these are a pump that will work whether you want to add an edge to your business look, give an unusual vibe to an evening look, or just simply wear with jeans for a dressed down  weekend outfit.

Like Yuul Yie, Reike Nen is another Korean designer shoe label that offers something a little different. This take on a classic pump ($348.00) will look great with pants and denim and the faux fur heel is a cool point of difference.

Sleek and clean, these Stuart Weitzman, Mira mules ($575.00) are low enough to be wearable all day. Wear with midi pencil skirts, cropped , wide leg pants and denim .

The ultimate white shoe has to come from the shoe maestro himself, Manolo Blahnik. A white stiletto is too obvious, but these mules ($1095.00) in white satin with crystal buckles are simply stunning and will look beautiful with dresses, skirts, pants and denim. A fabulous, yet dressed down evening look, for me, would be to wear these with a pair of high waist, wide leg jeans that hit just at the ankle, a simple white tank and a black tux jacket with satin lapels.

How will you wear your whites?
