Hands up who doesn’t love wearing Jeans or Pants? Anyone??? They are the easiest pieces to dress up or down and give your look a youthful and cool vibe. A simple tank and a black tux is all you need to elevate your look from frump to fab. BUT……….. skirts can be cool too. I’m not talking mini skirts here, I am all about the midi skirt, that length that sneaks past the knees and hits at just the right point of the calf to magically slim the ankle. Worn high on the waist, it gives such a statuesque look to even the most petite of us.I like to see a midi skirt with a top tucked in with a shorter cut jacket that hits just above the hip, or, with a pencil skirt, a looser fit DB jacket that finishes just below the hips.
As we are now well into Spring, I have found 3 midi skirt options and paired them with a blouse or shirt and a heel (not too high) to give you an easy ,casual, yet dressy outfit to take you here, there and everywhere.
This skirt by Loeil ($98.00) is in a gorgeous multicolour lightweight tweed fabric. The pockets on the front give it a casual vibe and it would look great with flat tan sandals in summer. Here, I’ve teamed it with a black silk blouse from And Other Stories ($115.000, just love the dropped shoulder and smocked cuff details and to finish, these raffia ankle strap sandals by Sam Edelman ($120.00), which pick out the orange hues in the skirt perfectly to and add a bit of a mismatch edge to this look.

This fabulous bold, striped skirt by Reformation ($148.00) lends itself to an array of possible colour combinations. The A line style makes it really flattering too. To make it Spring ready, I’ve put it with this cute blue top by And Other Stories ($95.00), ruffles around the neckline are not something I would usually recommend as we get older, but these are very subtle and the deep V draws them away from the neck, the sleeves add a vintage feel to this top. Because of the colours in this skirt, it is easy to mix in a completely different colour with your shoes, here these suede, coral pink sandals by Jimmy Choo ($452.00 on sale) complete this outfit and give it a fresh feel.

DVF has given a more traditional tailored pencil skirt a cool overhaul in heavy crepe de chine floral ($228.00). Wear with this short sleeved, dark denim utility shirt by Jcrew ($79.50, 40% off with code SPRINGTOIT) and these low heeled, 45 square nudist sandals in turquoise by Stuart Weitzman ($398.00) to give an unexpected look, which can take you from boardroom to cocktails in an instant.
