It’s no secret that exercise is essential to keep mind and body healthy, especially as we get older. For example, weight training is amazing for keeping the metabolism fired up, burning fat, building muscle tone and keeping bone mass. Running outside is great for lung stamina and an easy tool for promoting a healthy state of mind and yoga is of course good just about everything, strength, flexibility, calmness, mental clarity, the list goes on…….
But, what if you are struggling to get off the couch and those dull black leggings are just not giving you any inclination to move. Maybe its time to get loud and proud and choose some more colourful options. Ok, so they won’t actually do the workout for you, BUT, they will make you happy and bring some bright to your exercise regimen.
The power of clothes extends to my workout wear too, don’t just settle for generic dark and plain colours, go for bold hues and prints that , I promise, will make your workout a little more fun and for me, I find it easier to get motivated.

These Trina Turk high waisted capris ($88.00) are sure to bring the fun to your workout.
These Stella McCartney for Adidas 3/4 leggings ($70.00) are in a bright pink with interesting panels to stop them being too plain. Wear with a patterned top.
These Nike power cropped pants ($50.97, on sale) have slimming side panels, perfect for that lean look.
Another pair of Nike cropped pants ($95.00), the print is great and more subdued if you are still flirting with the idea of a pattern.
HPE stands for Human Performance Engineering and is one of the top technical sports brands with good reason. These camo high waist leggings ($120.00) enhance body shape and have a compression fit.They’re also a pretty good blue hue.

Both pairs of Under Armour shorts ($29.99 each) feature built in briefs and wick away fabric, they are not too short and perfect for exercising outside in warm weather. They come in a range of different colourways too.
H&M aren’t normally somewhere I would recommend for workout wear, but they do have a selection of reasonably priced options, like these Conscious Collection leggings with a shaping waist and fast dry fabric. What is good about them is the fact that they are made from partially recycled material and are priced at a very purse friendly $24.99.
Make an entrance in these geometric print leggings by Onzie ($69.00). They are form fitting to move with your body.
Slightly more subdued than some of the workout pants featured, these Gymshark leggings ($45.00) are colourful nonetheless a pink and purple abstract camo design.
