I don’t know about you, but the Christmas cheeseboard has been in full effect already and that Vegan cheese is damn good these days, it looks like another trip to restock before the 25th is inevitable. What has cheese got to do with fashion you may ask, well, there is still much social whirling to undertake, but here is how to look chic, but be relaxed and cosy at the same time, so you can enjoy these Christmas treats. Last week it was all about those evening looks and being party ready, this week we are dressing down a little for those casual  lunches with friends and family , trips to the movies, or theatre and even Christmas Day.

Each outfit incorporates sneakers and an athleisure element, but each look could very easily be switched up with a change of shoes and a cool clutch if a last minute invitation should materialise.

These Nike Cortez SE ($90.00) in a metallic lizard effect look great with these elastic waist first green joggers from Cos ($115.00). Add a stripe knit sweater from And Other Stories ($65.00) and this makes a cool, casual look. To add impact, look no further than this faux fur ascot from Anthropologie ($48.00), it gives the outfit more depth and interest. Wear it over the buttoned up coat and then wear around the sweater neck when you take off the coat. The camel coat from Nordstrom ($129.90) is a great finishing piece and the cute pompom gloves from Anthropologie ($32.00) will keep those digits toasty.

Take these Nike Presto Fly SE sneakers ($110.00) in a grey flannel upper with brown trims and , these Lou & Grey Terry fabric tie waist pant,  add a simple high neck sweater in a ribbed fabric  from Cos ($99.00) and then up the style ante with this fabulous Rachel Zoe metallic blazer. Perfect for those casual lunches and Christmas Day at home when you want to feel dressed, but comfy. For last minute trips, this black classic style wool overcoat from Nordstrom ($199.90) will keep this look sleek in the chilly weather. For a different edge to this outfit, pair the coat with these fab, fingerless, leather gloves from And Other Stories ($55.00).

Navy and Rose Gold make these New Balance for Jcrew sneakers ($85.00) a luxe choice. Paired with Gap crepe joggers($54.99, offers are on at GAP at the moment) and a hot pink cotton terry sweatshirt with blouson sleeves from Lou & Grey, this already has the beginning of a stylish and youthful athleisure look. Now to switch it up a little with this short leopard faux fur jacket from Michael, Michael Kors ($295.00), Chan Luu chain trim chiffon neck tie($26.00) and fur trimmed, fingerless, cashmere gloves, also from Michael, Michael Kors. This outfit is a perfect choice for when you need to be chic and cool in a hurry. I love how the neck tie creates a point of difference to the sweat and takes it up a notch.

I’m right with you regarding casual. You know we Southern Californians are pretty casual ALL the time. I guess unless we were meeting the Queen. Love your choices. Tell me does One wear long socks with booties? Must One cover up the ankle in booties? Enquiring mibds need to know.

I like a little bit of ankle on show, although a fishnet peeking o.ut still gives that allure.
